Master of Science Degree

The minimum admission requirements for the Master of Science Degree in Pharmacy, concentration in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any academic discipline (Pharmacy background not required) from a regionally accredited institution
  • 3.0 or better GPA in upper division undergraduate coursework
  • A statement of purpose must be submitted. There is a section for this information in the UF graduate application (step 2 of the application instructions).
  • A current resume or CV, in MS Word or PDF format. The file may be emailed to dess@ahc.ufl.edu or attached as part of the UF graduate application.
  • Acceptable Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score*
    • Prior to 8/1/2011: 500 verbal / 500 quantitative; 1,000 combined
    • After 8/1/2011: 150 verbal / 150 quantitative; 300 combined
  • Students educated outside the US may be required to pass a test of English language fluency.  Contact program administration for help determining if this applies to you.

*GRE requirement may be waived for applicants holding an advanced degree (Pharm.D., Master’s, MBA, J.D., etc.) from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution. Those with a BS in pharmacy from prior to the year 2000 should contact the program to discuss PharmD-degree equivalency and the possibility of a GRE waiver.

Graduate Certificates

The three graduate certificates offered by the program include the following:

The minimum admission requirements for entry into any of the three certificate programs are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any academic discipline (Pharmacy background not required)
  • 2.5 or better GPA in upper division undergraduate coursework. (Note that admitted students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in program coursework.)
  • A current resume or CV, in MS Word or PDF format. The file may be emailed to dess@ahc.ufl.edu.
  • No GRE required
  • Students educated outside the US may be required to pass a test of English language fluency.  Contact program administration for help determining if this applies to you.

Non-Degree Seeking Enrollment in Individual Courses

Professionals may apply to take any course in the program's curriculum on a non-degree seeking (NDS) basis without admission to the University.  Program approval of NDS enrollment is required, however, to ensure that students meet individual course prerequisites.

Requirements for NDS enrollment include the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any academic discipline (Pharmacy background not required)
  • No GRE required
  • Students educated outside the US may be required to pass a test of English language fluency. Contact program administration for help determining if this applies to you.
