Pharmacoeconomics and its related health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) fields provide insights that guide optimal resource allocation. This exciting area of study identifies quality patient care by balancing economic, humanistic and clinical outcomes, taking the emphasis away from “what’s the cheapest?”
Managed Care Pharmacy
Managed care implies a defined structure and process of designing and delivering covered health care benefits, including risk-sharing, price and utilization controls, and quality assurance. Managed care pharmacy believes in improving the quality and accessibility of health care.
Pharmaceutical Policy
The ultimate goal of health care regulation is to ensure health care quality, especially in pharmaceuticals. Accomplishing this task requires balancing competing needs, such as cost and access for patients.
Pharmaceutical Value Communications
Pharmaceutical Value Communications combines a scientific approach to pharmaceutical evidence assessment with effective communications for specific stakeholders.
