About Mitchell K Higashi

Mitch Higashi, PhD, is the Associate Chief Science Officer for ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research, where he oversees science and content strategies, collaborates with special interest groups and health policy working groups, and advances initiatives to increase awareness and application of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) globally.

With a robust background in HEOR, Dr. Higashi previously served as Senior Vice President at GeneDx, implementing market access and real-world evidence programs for genomic solutions, algorithms, and pharma partners. At Bristol Myers Squibb, he led a cross-portfolio team, contributing to significant FDA filings and global health technology assessments. His earlier roles include Chief Economist at GE Healthcare and US Head of HEOR at GlaxoSmithKline.

Dr. Higashi earned his PhD from the University of Washington and completed the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School.
